A viewing scenario you can audit Ten thousand plays of a ten-minute video, watched halfway at an average 3 Mbps, deliver about 1,125 decimal GB. A 10% margin brings the estimate to 1,237.5 GB. Forty stored ten-minute videos require 400 storage minutes. Playback quality, buffering and audience behavior can move the real bill. Capacity is not feature parity The Gumlet comparison picks the lowest listed plan that fits both storage minutes and bandwidth. It does not decide whether you need domain controls, DRM or other paid features. Cloudflare bills by stored and delivered minutes rather than bandwidth; the estimate includes prepaid storage blocks rounded up to 1,000 minutes. Use average delivered bitrate, not your uploaded source bitrate. Adaptive streaming serves different qualities. Increase the margin if viewers replay or preload content. Values above the published Gumlet capacity return a quote/overage flag rather than an invented price.

How to read your result
Use average delivered bitrate, not source-file bitrate. Adaptive streaming changes quality across viewers. A capacity fit is not feature parity: verify DRM, access controls and overage terms. Prefetch and replay can increase the bill.

Examples and troubleshooting
A video's duration is not the same as the time every viewer watches. Model plays, watched percentage and average delivered bitrate before comparing hosting capacity. Keep your stored library separate from the amount delivered to viewers.

Common questions
Is GB the same as GiB?
No. This tool uses decimal gigabytes. Do not compare it to a binary-gigabyte limit without converting units.
Should I add all HLS renditions together?
Not for one viewer's playback estimate. Renditions represent different quality choices; model the actual mix or separate scenarios.
Does the cheapest capacity fit include every feature?
No. Check required features and accepted terms independently before selecting a hosting plan.
Privacy and anonymous measurement
Your tool inputs stay in the isolated browser workspace. We count page views and action names, anonymous browser IDs, referring domain, campaign channel and device class. We do not collect your JSON, email text, playlists or complete referring URLs. Country is unknown unless supplied by a trusted server configuration. Browser storage may be unavailable; in that case unique-user counts are limited to this visit.
